OUR MISSION
We produce and deliver a steady supply of spinach to consumers 365 days a year.
SCROLL
Our Business
What is Kinokuni Agricultural Village?
Spinach is grown from seedlings and shipped nationwide from Wakayama Prefecture.
Kinokuni Agricultural Village is one of the top producers of spinach in Wakayama Prefecture, with stable production and supply 365 days a year.
Using hydroponic cultivation, we ship 3,000 to 4,000 bunches of spinach per day to all over Japan.
Spinach has a low "gunkiness" characteristic of spinach so that it can be eaten raw, so even children who do not like spinach can enjoy eating it.
It can also be torn into pieces and used in salads, which is a new way of eating spinach, and thus expands the range of dishes.
Our Three Strengths
Largest production volume in Wakayama Prefecture
Strengths of the First
Stable supply of 3,000 to 4,000 bundles per day even in summer
Even in summer, when products tend to be in short supply, the daily shipment volume remains the same 365 days a year.
In order to ensure stable production, we have our own seedling cultivation facilities, creating an environment in which we can produce spinach even if seedlings are in short supply.
In addition, we produce spinach in vast greenhouses, which enables us to produce and ship large quantities of spinach 365 days a year.
Second Strengths
There is a secret weapon that no one else has.
The highest standard "nursery facility" in Japan for stable production.
Our secret weapon to ensure a stable supply is our "seedling cultivation facilities" (facilities for growing our own seedlings).
In fact, few hydroponic facilities have facilities for growing seedlings, and in most cases, the seedlings are planted. However, this will lead to a decrease in production when seedlings themselves are in short supply.
For this reason, we have our own seedling cultivation facilities and have established a "system that enables stable production and supply at any time".
Third Strengths
Complete clarification of high safety standards.
Solid safety and "spinach that even large companies want".
From our perspective as producers, dealing directly with major companies involves many inspection items and hurdles that must be cleared.
However, we can provide more reliable "pesticide-free and additive-free spinach" by clearly documenting our safety standards and providing information on the production environment to satisfy even large companies with strict safety standards.

Facilities

Three innovations for stable production
Our unique "seedling growing facility"
The first innovation
The biggest difference between us and other companies is that we have our own "nursery terrace facility". This "nursery terrace" facility allows us to plant seedlings stably throughout the year. This allows us to grow from seed to seedling, enabling stable cultivation, cultivation, and shipment of spinach even during the summer months when spinach is in short supply. At the nursery facility, light, temperature, irrigation, and other factors are automatically controlled by computer, and the seedlings are grown for approximately 10 days under conditions suitable for spinach seedlings.
Hydroponic cultivation equipment that maintains high quality
The second innovation
In Japan, it is difficult to grow completely pesticide-free, alley-grown spinach. Hydroponics, however, grows spinach without the use of pesticides or additives.
Our hydroponic cultivation facility withstands typhoons with wind speeds of 50 m/sec and safely grows spinach.
In cultivation, the seedlings are planted one by one by hand in holes drilled in the panels. The culture fluid flows under the panels, absorbing the seedlings and causing them to grow.
Strengthening efforts to eliminate disease and pest risks
The third innovation
The risk of spinach pests and diseases is the biggest risk that greatly affects the stable supply of spinach to our customers. Therefore, we thoroughly reduce the risk of pests and diseases by controlling the medium, temperature, and humidity in our plastic greenhouses.
In addition, double curtains are used to control indoor temperature and sunlight to maintain an optimal environment for spinach.
Through these efforts, we are not only able to grow without pesticides, but also to stabilize the percentage of excellent products and ship high quality spinach.
Food Safety Management
Daily efforts for safety and security
The first efforts
To remove germs and pests from the outside, employees always pass through an air shower before coming to work each day.
In addition to passing through the air shower, we also blow air to their arms and other parts of the body that are not easily exposed to the air shower to thoroughly prevent the entry of germs and pests.
We also ask visitors to pass through the air shower when they are escorted to the greenhouse or work building.
The second efforts
We always sanitize our hands before work and ensure that new gloves and hats are worn.
Gloves and hats are always renewed every time we take a break or go out to prevent germs from adhering to equipment and hair from entering. The risk of bacteria and insect infestation is always present.
Thorough daily hygiene prevents the risk of spinach illness and ensures stable shipments.
The third efforts
At the end of the work, we disinfect the tables used and clean the toilets daily. In addition to reducing the risk of bacteria and pest infestation, we prevent the growth of germs by maintaining cleanliness.
In addition, the work area is always kept tidy, and we strive to maintain the quality of facility management at the work area as well as the infestation of pests and germs.
The fourth efforts
In order to ensure the safety and security of our products and production sites, our production sites are managed by managers who are certified as "J-GAP" instructors.
In addition to delivering safe products, our supervisors check the production site daily to ensure worker safety and environmental preservation, and continue to maintain safety.
In addition, we are planning to apply for "A-GAP" certification, which certifies food safety, environmental conservation, and labor safety.
Everyday steady efforts create food safety and security.
We are confident in these efforts.
We welcome you to visit our farmland and employees at any time.
Easy for little ones to eat!
Easy-to-prepare "salad spinach" is growing in popularity!
Just wash and cut, and you're done! Many menus are introduced on Cookpad, a famous cooking site in Japan.
Cultivated only with water for 3 days before harvest, it is characterized by the elimination of the "gruel and bitterness" characteristic of spinach, making it easy to eat.
Therefore, it is possible to "eat it raw," which was not possible with ordinary spinach.
It is highly versatile and can be used as is in salads by washing and cut it into pieces.
Our track record of business transactions
Thanks to your patronage, we have received a lot of support!
Many of our achievements have convinced even major companies that value safety and security.
Kinokuni Agricultural Village does business with major companies that value safety and security.
In order to produce safe and secure spinach We have our own management facilities and strict management system to produce safe and secure spinach.
Guaranteed Peace of Mind
To deliver safety and security
We have obtained the "JGAP Instructor Certification" recommended by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
For a more secure transaction.
JGAP is a certification system recommended by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) for agricultural production process management methods, and is also known as the ISO for agriculture, which aims to "ensure food safety, environmental conservation, and labor safety" that agriculture should take on.
In order to provide consumers and buyers of agricultural products with greater peace of mind when purchasing and doing business with us, our CEO, Mr. Yamamoto, has become a member of the Japan GAP Association (JGF) and has obtained the qualification of "JGAP Instructor" to assist farms in obtaining "JGAP" certification.
Furthermore, in anticipation of exporting our agricultural products to Asia in the future, we will obtain "ASIAGAP" instructor certification in May 2022 and "ASIAGAP" facility certification in June of the same year.
